You Learn Something New Every Day

Day 13

In Dutch folk law Zwarte Piet (translated as ‘Black Peter’) is a companion of Saint Nicholas whose annual feast in the Netherlands (usually on the evening of December 5th) is followed by the distribution of presents to all good children. The character of Zwarte Piet is typically (and controversially) played by a white man wearing black makeup.

A Year Long Project

The old adage says, "you learn something new every day", and so to ensure that I do, for one year, I will post something 'new' that I've learnt each day right here!

If you want to make sure you learn something new too then subscribe via the RSS feed or simply check back daily. New posts will be published at 1am (GMT).

Enjoy!
